Georgia State Square Dancers Association (GSSDA)

A non-profit federation that promotes the social, physical and mental benefits of square dancing through the provision of education and support services to the local square dance community.

Welcome!

GSSDA is a non-profit federation of square dance Clubs and Associations throughout Georgia. Per the GSSDA bylaws the term "square dancing" is understood to include modern western square dancing, round dancing, contra, lines, English country dancing, clogging and other types of folk dancing. Participants in these activities are identified as "square dancers".

Most GSSDA Member Clubs feature Modern Western Square Dancing as their primary activity. Here you should find information and contact details about a wide variety of square dance clubs. You will also find information about square dance activities of interest to Georgia square dancers. Links are provided to many publications and allied organizations of interest to square dancers.

Communications technology (internet, AI, social media, etc.) has and continues to advance rapidly. The younger among us are familiar with these advances, but the more mature among us often struggle to keep up. For this reason, GSSDA.org strives to be more "user friendly" for the more mature.

I hope you will visit GSSDA.org often and think of it as your source of information for all things related to the square dance community. Things change frequently, and we pledge to do our best to provide the most current information available. If you notice something missing or incorrect, please let us know. We promise to fix it as soon as practical.

Your support of GSSDA's efforts to promote the social, physical and mental benefits of square dancing through the provision of education and support services to local square dance clubs is appreciated. The Georgia State Square Dance Convention, GSSDA Club Support Grants, the Georgia Traveler Program, and club/caller recognition programs are examples of how GSSDA supports local square dance clubs as they deliver the benefits of square dancing to their local communities. If you feel the programs and events of GSSDA are worthy of your financial support, we invite you to go to our GSSDA store and purchase our logo merchandise or simply donate to GSSDA.

Thank you for your support of GSSDA.
